News and Announcements

With decades of volunteer efforts by great people to organize youth hockey in the community of Copper Cliff, a neighbourhood of Greater Sudbury, the minor hockey association’s executive board has renewed their rep program look and feel to accompany many of the updates and progressive changes with the local not for profit organization.

The organization is thankful for the more than 85 years of contribution from volunteer coaches, trainers, and board members as well as players, parents and officials who have made all the games, practices and tournaments building blocks to young hockey players who become good productive citizens, many of whom have returned to coach their children in the program.

The organization welcomes the changes as they celebrate the history of the organization and it’s graduates and players alike.

If your child is interested in learning the great canadian game of hockey this season, please contact the association for how and when to register your child this season.

We are incredibly excited for the upcoming tryouts in anticipation of next season. We are pleased to confirm that Andrew Dale has accepted the position of head coach for the 2019/2020 Copper Cliff Redmen Major Atom AA Team. Coach Andrew, has a background in junior and professional hockey as a player as well as many years of coaching at the IP, Novice, Atom and Peewee Levels.

Coach Andrew has been busy laying down the foundation for next year’s team including schedule, fees, rules and guidelines as well as philosophy and player development approach. If you follow the link below you will see the draft plan for next season and what the Major Atom Redmen AA program has in mind for our players. Please keep in mind that this is a draft document, and we are working to finalize everything as tryouts start and as we get meeting with the parents of next season’s team.

Coach Andrew has organized a group of non-parent assessors to assist in the team selection process in a few weeks time. Try-outs are set for April 24, 25 and May 1 at 7 pm at the Cambrian Arena. We look forward to seeing kids who are motivated to develop their game, move forward and learn together. Coach Andrew’s philosophy beyond youth skill development can be summarized in one word – COMPETE. We will be looking to find a balanced team of motivated players that bring a positive attitude and tonnes of energy to the rink in order to have fun all season long!

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to me (Andrew Bell) or Coach Andrew.
